Svetlana studied medicine at the St. Petersburg Pediatric Medical Academy in Russia.
She received her Medical degree there, with specializations in Pediatrics, Neonatal Medicine, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Russia is known for its medical innovations and openness to alternative and natural medicine, so during her internship, along with training in physical medicine, she received training in various acupuncture modalities.
When Svetlana began her practice in Russia, she started using acupuncture with both children and adults, with very encouraging results. She then relocated to the U.S., with the intent of continuing in the healing profession, and decided to pursue more training in Asian medicine and acupuncture. She was accepted at Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, and there received her Masters in Acupuncture.
Svetlana believes in knowing, diagnosing and healing the entire person. Disease can often seem like a prison. She believes the goal is to do whatever is necessary to free people from this prison, with an eye always to supporting traditionally Western therapies that patients might be undergoing. Her pediatric and neonatal background also give her a unique perspective in treating children. Apart from that, Svetlana specializes in pain management, immune system support, stress management, addiction detox support, Facial Rejuvenation, Acupuncture Points Injection therapy as well as general health maintenance.
